It’s back! – The Hulltimate Challenge 2020 will return, as the UK’s 1stand only city-centre Urban Obstacle Course, this water oriented, adrenaline packed challenge will be taking over the city again on 13th June 2020
Project Page Detail:
The Living with Water Partnership are thrilled to announce that the Hulltimate Challenge will once again take to the streets of Hull on Saturday 13th June 2020.
In October 2018, over 900 racers took the streets to challenge obstacles such as Ice Baths at The Deep, swimming in Princes Quay Dock and overcoming all their fears outside Hull Minster by sliding down the Hullmageddon.
Based solely around the region’s relationship with water, The Hulltimate Challenge brings to life ways in which the community of Hull and East Riding can live and thrive with water, by tackling water related obstacles through the wonderful streets of Hull.
Lee Pitcher, General Manager for Living with Water says:
“The Hulltimate Challenge engaged over 1.5 million people last year and was both regionally and nationally ground-breaking in its creative approach to build community awareness around flooding. We are thrilled to have the event return to the city, with bigger and better obstacles for everyone. Repeating such a successful event, means that not only is there an appetite for events like this but we are better prepared for climate change too.”
Living with Water are an award-winning partnership made up of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Environment Agency, Hull City Council and Yorkshire Water, focussed on building flood resilience across the region with various projects including Graffiti Art Installations, Education Outreach activities in schools, sponsorship of the Big Malarkey in June 2019 and attendance at Driffield Show in July. All aimed at engaging with businesses and communities to build a better protected Humber Region in innovative ways.
How can I get involved?
You can get involved in lots of ways! Join us in completing the obstacle course with a friend, family, colleagues or even in competition against another group, there will be over 30+ obstacles for ranging abilities as well as a 5K and optional 10k route… with volunteers and race staff along the route, hot showers and changing facilities on-site what reason do you have for not joining in?
