It saw 11 shortlisted projects in the running to win the Net Zero Award, Smeaton Award (projects under £5 million) and Centenary Award (projects over £5 million)

Living with Water received a Certificate of Excellence at the ICE Yorkshire & Humber annual awards for the Rosmead Street scheme.

The hotly contested Smeaton award for project under £5mil was a tough category with 8 shortlisted, but ICE president Professor Anusha Shah commented that recognition of a sustainable scheme such as ours with community, resilience, collaboration and a focus on natural, locally sourced materials at the heart of the project, should be the norm in the future engineering schemes.

The overall winner went to David Oluwale pedestrian and cyclist bridge in Leeds, spanning the River Aire.

The team at Living with Water were thrilled with General Manager, Emma Brown saying; "To have this recognition of our team work on such a complex scheme is a real boost." Commenting on key note speaker Prof Shah's opening speech "Nature based solutions should be the norm and Living with Water is working hard to ensure that communities in these flood risk area are part of the journey from design to delivery."
