Why this matters in Hull & the East Riding
Hull, due to its geography and shape, has a long history with flooding, with notable floods in 1953, 2007 and 2013.
In 2007, thousands of homes were ruined, families were uprooted and businesses disrupted. Living with Water was founded to increase Hull’s resilience in the face of future flood events.
We're a partnership between Yorkshire Water, Hull City Council, the Environment Agency, East Riding of Yorkshire Council and the University of Hull – working together to make this region safer, greener and more resilient for everyone who calls it home.
