It's over to you
Part of what we do at Living With Water is help our communities learn about the landscape they live in, take practical steps to improve flood resilience at home, and better understand the work being done across the region on their behalf.
To help achieve this, we provide a range of resources you can use in your own time and at your own pace, whether you're new to our projects or have been following our work for a while.
Get outdoors
Our guided walks take you through Hull’s diverse range of flood risk measures and show how the natural and engineered landscape around you works to manage water.
Each walk is free, family-friendly and open to everyone wishing to know more about their area and its protection.
Make your garden more flood resilient
Small changes at home can make a real difference to how surface water is managed in your street. Our gardening tips cover practical, affordable steps.
Whether it's installing a water butt or swapping hard surfaces for permeable ones, discover the ways that you can help out from home.
Play the SuDS game
Have your say with our interactive game!
Pick a local street scene from Rosmead Street, Orchard Park or Bilton, choose your drainage solutions and design your own flood resilience scheme.
It's a genuinely fun way to learn how flood resilience works, for children and adults alike.
Earn your Living With Water badge
Scouts, Guides and Brownies groups across Hull and the East Riding can work towards a Living With Water badge by completing a series of activities. These include
- Exploring water
- Exploring climate change
- Exploring flood resilience.
All resources are free to download.
Young people's voices
In 2022, we worked with the Hull Young People's Parliament to give young people a structured say in how they want Hull to look in the future.
With their voices at the forefront, a manifesto shaped by the people who live longest with today's decisions was created.
Meet our ambassadors
Our ambassadors are residents from across Hull and the East Riding who help bring the Living With Water message to the communities they're part of.
If making a difference to your local community interests you, find out who they are and how you could get involved.
