Circular image of the Humber region on the UK map, with three warning triangles for flooding

The flood warning service can tell you if you’re at risk of flooding in England.

You can find out if you’re:

  • At immediate risk of flooding - check current flood warnings and river and sea levels
  • At risk of flooding in the next 5 days
  • In an area that’s likely to flood in the future - check your long-term risk of flooding and view your area’s flood maps.

Flood water will also back up water pipes and out of any plumbed-in appliances such as your washing machine and your toilet.

Check your insurance

Check your insurance to make sure you are covered in the event of a flood? You will need building and contents insurance to cover damage to your home and valuable possessions. Contact your insurer to check if you’re not sure.
